Just got back from the run today 4 hours 3 mins...
My highlight of the run was hearing Irons being shouted out at the beginning of the race and then singing We've got Payet with a fellow hammer as we were running the first mile.

agree with mentor.

the maroity of the places go to charity runners who want to raise money and allot of amateur runners who apply year in and year our, who wont hassle you for money, will never get a chance to run the london marathon.

agree with having charity places but there are too many, especially in the big events.

Massive demand for the ballot this year. Think it worked out about 1 in 25 chance if you went in through the ballot. I put my name in, and will do the same this year and every year in case I get lucky.
My only other hope will be to train for years and hope I get a Good For Age place when I'm an old fucker!

The way that Ronnie Pickering laid into that scooterist was disgusting. "Do you know who I am"?

"I stopped watching this when the BBC in its wisdom stopped using the accompanying music, Ron Goodwin's The Trap after the death of Ron Pickering. Have they reintroduced it this year?"

I think they only play it now when one of the female runners stops to take a kerbside shit.

Two of my neighbours are running, both are women running their first ever marathon.

Good luck to them. I hope they both finish. Marvellous, courageous achievement.

Or after each mile shoot the last 10 runners.

That should get them moving.

Re: The London Marathon
They should lift Tower Bridge just a little bit.

Give them a 8 foot gap to jump in the middle.

Might liven it up a bit..
